Custom insoles
Description

Our Custom Insoles are specially moulded to support your feet in the proper, neutral position. This is crucial for people who overpronate or supinate and can help those with a recurring foot, ankle or knee pain related to conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma or runner's knee, among others. Studies have shown that proper support under the foot can help prevent the progression of overpronation and supination while offering relief from the pain associated with the foot, ankle and knee strains and injuries.

But you can still benefit from custom insoles even without acute foot problems or if you have a neutral foot type! Custom insoles add a perfect, custom fit and all-day comfort to all types of footwear. If you spend many hours of your day on your feet, custom support underfoot can help keep your feet and lower back from tiring as easily. Good support for the feet has benefits across your body's entire kinetic chain, encouraging good alignment from your feet and legs up through your whole spine.

If you're still unsure or want to know more about your foot type, getting a foot or gait analysis is an excellent idea. These are offered at various sports shops and by many physical therapists, athletic trainers, coaches and doctors.

Supination and overpronation are foot imbalances, which increase the risk of injury through deficient shock absorption and biomechanical efficiency. People with foot imbalances also tend to have an increased risk of ankle sprains, knee problems or ligament damage. FootBalance insoles are custom moulded in the neutral position, enhancing your foot’s biomechanics. FootBalance insoles support feet properly in the neutral position and aid stability, facilitating healthy foot function. Our cushioned insoles and dynamic balance plate help improve shock absorption and reduce repetitive impact forces.

Why should a person with neutral feet use FootBalance insoles?

Description

Yes. This is all based on biomechanics. If you have overpronation or supination you won’t use many of your muscles in the correct manner. FootBalance insoles are moulded in the neutral position and will support your feet with proper alignment and help passive muscles to become activate again, therefore strengthening them. This is like resuming exercise after a long time off - muscles that have not been used for some times are re-activated, which can cause initial muscle fatigue and soreness.

FootBalance insoles affect the foot’s biomechanics by supporting it to the neutral position and always allowing normal gait and running patterns. All FootBalance insoles use dynamic materials, guiding the foot towards optimal position, but allowing foot to function normally at the same time. When that happens, we can also further help the muscles to activate and keep the foot structure in better alignment that helps reduce pain and injuries.

In general we recommend FootBalance Custom Insoles for people aged ten and up. Before the age of ten a child’s gait and feet are still developing. After that a person’s gait reaches a point in its development after which no significant changes occur.

Description

If made and used properly - no. When made to your anatomical arch, in the neutral position, FootBalance Custom Insoles do not cause harm. They may cause discomfort at first because your body needs to adjust to their new alignment and muscles which may have been on holiday i.e. not used for some time.

Be sure to follow the instructions and start wearing the insoles gradually. To start with, wear the insoles only for a few hours a day, gradually increasing the time worn by a few hours each day. Don't wear them right away for intense exercise, but start by walking, after which you can gradually move on to running and other strenuous exercise. Once you are accustomed to the insoles, you can - and should - use them as much as possible.

Instructions for custom insole use
Description

Before inserting your custom insoles into your footwear, it’s recommended you remove the shoe insoles. Start wearing your new insoles gradually to get used to them. Your insoles will enhance foot muscle function for the first 2-3 days, so slowly build up the time you wear your new insoles, allowing your feet time to adjust

If necessary, only wear the insoles for a few hours a day at first, gradually increasing the time-worn each day. After one week, start wearing the insoles as much as possible throughout the day, every day.

By properly supporting your foot FootBalance Custom insoles help align your entire body, so you get the most benefit when you wear them consistently. To wear your insoles daily simply transfer them between your shoes or get multiple pairs. Either way, remember to always first remove the pre-existing factory insoles before inserting your FootBalance Custom Insoles.

For greater convenience, we recommend getting at least two pairs of FootBalance Custom Insoles: one pair for everyday use and another for sports. You won't have to worry about getting your everyday insoles sweaty during exercise, and you can let each pair rest for a day and dry out if needed. This helps them last longer.

Having multiple pairs of insoles also helps you ensure that you have the best fitting insole for different activities and types of footwear. For example, you may want a more cushioned model for running shoes, a super thin model for work shoes, and a narrower, stiffer model for ski boots or cycling cleats.
